My name is Rebecca Adams, and I am a native of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
I am a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist (LMBT# NC-6130) and a Certified Esalen® Practitioner (#284201). I am currently training as a Lomi Lomi practitioner of Hawaiian Temple Bodywork.
Service to the community and compassion for those in pain and need is a strong family tradition for me. I have family members in nursing, home health care, fire and rescue, and my father served our community and surrounding counties for 30 years by training personnel and standardizing fire and rescue services. I am one of two licensed massage therapists in my family.
I was privileged to be in the first group of practitioners in 2013 to be certified on the east coast in Esalen® massage. For information about Esalen® massage & bodywork, visit www.esaleninstructor.com, or www.esaleninstitute.org. I am also trained in Lomi Lomi, kinetic massage, energy balancing and myofascial release therapy. The Esalen modality encompasses all of these modalities, and much more. The nurturing connection and deep listening that is the foundation of Esalen work captured my heart and mind, and has become my passion!
I was also privileged to travel to Hawaii in 2014 and again in 2016 to meet and learn some of the authentic Hawaiian Lomi techniques from indigenous elders and practitioners.
I have been practicing for over 12 years, and have been blessed with many opportunities to learn and to serve.
I work intuitively, combining scientific knowledge with prayerful application to address your individual needs and specific problems.
